Nama Dwarf Tortoise

Chersobius Solus

The tortoise represents the hotspot called Succulent Karoo, found entirely in South Africa and Namibia.

I have had the opportunity to travel to Namibia three times, and it is a country that has dazzled me, especially for the beauty of its desert. I wanted Namibia and one of its endemic species to be the protagonist of my second illustration. Also, a tortoise forms the base of the main column facing the mountain in the Nativity façade of the Sagrada Familia.
